Do I need my library card to borrow?

Yes. Your University ID card is your Library card. Unfortunately you cannot borrow items from the library without it.

 

When is the libary open?

Penryn library is open 24/7 during term time. Falmouth Campus library is open Monday-Friday 8.45am-9pm and Saturday 10-6, Sunday 1-6 during term time

 

Is the Library self-issue?

Yes, we have  self-issue service at both Penryn and Falmouth Campus Libraries enabling you to issue, renew and return books yourself and pay fines. You'll need your ID card.

What type of study spaces are there?

Can I borrow if I have fines?

Yes, as long as your fines are under £5. You can make a full or part payment using cash in the self issue machines, or pay online (minimum £5 payment)

 

Can I book a room to use with friends/colleagues?

Yes, there are 3 bookable group study rooms on the Penryn Campus.  Please see here for details

 

Can I borrow from another campus library?

Yes. You can reserve books on the Library Catalogue and they'll be delivered to either library for you via our van delivery service. We'll contact you by University email and SMS when they arrive.

Can I borrow from the University of Exeter libraries?

Yes, all students can request books from the University of Exeter library, provided the books are not Reference  (these can only be used at the library in Exeter.) The books will be sent down by van three times a week.

 

How do I reserve a book that’s already on loan? 

You can place a reservation on a book or video that's already on loan using the library catalogue. Please note you can only reserve up to 10 items at a time.

 

Are there computers for me to use in the Library?

Penryn library has 6 Macs and many PCs available to use, as well as Macs, Pcs and scanners in the IT suite. The whole building is WiFi enabled. You can also use Eduroam if you are from another HE institution

Falmouth Campus Library has 11 open access PC's. In addition the Library has WiFi throughout should you wish to use your laptop.
