Renewals & Reservations
If no-one else has reserved the item, it can be renewed. Automatic renewals will renew all items that have not been recalled or have a hold pending until the end of your academic studies. You will receive an email notification monthly with details of current loans. Renewals may be also be carried out online via the Library Search, by phone, or in person at either library helpdesk.
If someone else has an item on loan which you want, you can place a hold on it to reserve it. Please note you can only reserve up to 10 items at a time. The library staff can help you do this, or you can do it yourself using the library catalogue.
Any standard loan book is subject to recall if a hold is placed on it.
Recalls work as follows:
- The return period after a recall will be 7 days
- Recall notices will be sent to college/ university email addresses
- Recalled items are subject to fines if not returned by the new date
