A creative collaborative duo of Fine Art Students are offering a free drop in workshop for students & staff on Monday 20th of May between 10am - 3pm in the Penryn Campus Library. As part of their residency in the Archives supported by Falmouth University's Micro-Internship scheme the students have been exploring hobbies and pastimes focusing in particular on participation in country shows and the growing of giant vegetables.
The Potato Society Craft of the Month of 'Dress Your Own Potato' workshop will encourage attendees to decorate a potato using fabric and stitch in a playful and fun way with wonkiness and silliness both prioritised and embraced.
There will be a judging and prize ceremony at the end of the day. Prize categories will be decided shortly before the prize giving using a randomised 'prize generating method' as the aim is not to encourage crafting as a competitive activity, but rather as something which opposes the pressures of day to day life.
