Explore Your Resources

The library collections provide a wealth of print and online resources, including textbooks, journals, magazines, audio-visual material, images, news, archives, academic and creative databases.

The Library works with your lecturers to make sure the collections are exactly what you need to inspire you during your studies.

Use Library Search below to start exploring.

Explore the physical collections

The Library provides access to millions of items through Library Search!

The physical collections of books, journals, videos and more are split across the Penryn and Falmouth campus libraries

You can use Library Search to find these. You can see what there is in the collection, which items are available on the shelves - and which are currently on loan.

Discover online resources

Most resources can be accessed via Library Search, through your subject guides, or your resource lists, and you can access them wherever you are as long as you're online.

You'll find thousands of online books and journals, as well as streaming video, reports, dissertations, maps, images and statistics.

Your resource list will guide you through what you need, but make sure you explore beyond those essentials. Your subject guides can recommend key resources for your area of study and ways you can make your searching more effective.

How do I access online resources?

You will be asked to sign in to your Falmouth account when you access resources. You will need to use your:

  • @falmouth.ac.uk email address
  • your usual network/Microsoft password.

If you are already signed in to your Falmouth Microsoft account, the login process will happen automatically.

Look out for any additional instructions on Library Search, and if you have trouble accessing any online resource, you can report any problems from within Library Search itself.

Accessibility & online resources

The Study Hub includes lots of advice and technology that can help you to access online content, including the Library's online resources.

There are lots of features built into Microsoft Office, for example, to help you focus on reading and understanding documents, as well as apps you can use on your phone or browser to read documents and websites aloud. We work closely with our online resource suppliers on accessibility issues, and most of them will have help or accessibility pages that you can link to.

Do ask the Library for help if you have specific requirements, or need help with any particular platform or resource.
